Tired of taking so many pills? Waiting in long lines at the pharmacy?
There is an alternative – and a golden one at that. What is also known as “golden honey” or “golden milk” Many folks may already be familiar with turmeric. Some might use it occasionally as a spice and others might have seen it in bags in the supermarket and thought, “I wonder what that is used for.” What a lot of folks don’t know is that a little of that yellow powder mixed with honey produces a priceless combination.
The mix has strong anti-inflammatory qualities, which not only destroys the bacteria that caused a disease in your body, but also helps promote natural defenses. In addition, there are no negative effects in the digestive tract – unlike most synthetic antibiotics.
Turmeric contains active ingredient, curcumin, which is known to have over 150 therapeutic properties – including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer qualities.
Consuming the golden honey also improves digestion – even so to where it has been awarded a certificate of scientific literature. It is also known to be a remedy to the common cold in Ayurveda (a 5,000 year-old natural healing system stemming from the Vedic culture in India).
So running to the pharmacy at the next sign of a cold or ailment is now no longer your only option. You can quickly make yourself enough to last 3 days. All you need to do is mix well 1 tablespoon of turmeric into 3.5 ounces (or 100 grams) of raw honey and store in a jar.
On the first day you detect symptoms of a cold, take ½ teaspoon every hour throughout the day. On the second day, take ½ teaspoon every two hours; on the third day, take ½ three times per day.
Try to not swallow the mix when you ingest it – rather, let it rest on your tongue until it dissolves completely. Typically after 3 days, the body will have recovered. Multiple people have stated they did not need any medication aside from the mix.
The same composition can also be used to treat respiratory issues by taking 1 teaspoon three times per day over the period of a week. The golden honey can also be added to milk or tea.
In the event that you are already taking medications and want to add this mix to your list of normal consumables for treatment, consult your doctor prior to taking.
Take caution in use as turmeric tends to thin blood (lowering blood pressure). While this is a plus for most of us, those with hemophilia or hypertension may need to seek medical advise from a doctor. Also, avoid consuming turmeric if you suffer from a bile disease as turmeric causes the muscle contraction in the gall bladder.
Finally, Indio-Tibetan medicine highlights that the timing of the consumption of the mix is essential. For example, if you use turmeric before meals, the throat and lungs are affected. If you take it during a meal, it acts on the digestive system. If you take it after meals, it affects the colon and kidneys. Now that’s smart medicine!
