We may not realize it but babies are actually very much in tune with water. Actually just month earlier they were in their momma’s womb and lived in a water like environment for 9 months and for them to feel water on their skin wouldn’t surprise them at all. When a baby is first born they naturally know how to swim, but as time goes by if not used that talent goes away. Then we have to retrain our kids how to swim all over again. If your baby is only 6 months old they are clearly still carry the instinct needed, so you can play with them in the water and be relatively safe. Wouldn’t that be fun to take your newborn into a swimming pool and watch them splash and play; having lots of fun? Why freak out about newborns drowning when we can just let them do what they do best. Why protect them from something they are good at?

At first of course you are wondering how much swimming this little one is going to do since dad is so hands on with this little guy. You can tell though that as dad let’s go this little guy is at home in this environment and takes off with little problems. Even when let go of the baby doesn’t freak out but rather very calmly swims to the surface. This pool is not a chlorinated pool though it is a salt water pool which makes swimming a lot easier, and doesn’t hurt the eyes.
